Notes:

  • Many of these facts are taken from the family bible of Michael Bentz (b. 1790). Frontispiece reads (translated from Old German): "I, Michael Bentz, son of Peter Bentz and Anna Maria (nee Humrichhausen) was born 1 April 1790. Anna, wife, daughter of John Quickel and Elizabeth (nee Brennemann) was born 5 Dec 1802, Married on 14th April 1818."

  • Peter Bentz (b. 1758) buried in Quickel's cemetery in Conewago Twp.
  • Info on son John/Philippina taken from York Co. Wills.

  1. I've been struggling with my Bentz genealogy for years now. My 2nd great grandfather Samuel Bentz (1845-1886) is buried in Penryn, Lancaster County, PA alongside two of his children, John and Harvey, and two people who I suspect are his grandparents, Peter and Catharine. Peter was born 21 March 1784 and died 15 December 1860. Is this the same Peter Bentz who is listed as the son of Johannes "Peter" and Anna Maria Bentz (Hummrickhausern)?
