Dear Mrs. Livingstone:
I have over 100 pages on families who moved from here to Virginia and North Carolina, but Bentz and Persinger are not in the records.
The records of the Lutheran paster, the Rev. John Casper Stoever, show: Children of Jacob Bentz, of Swatara (Lancaster now Dauphin, County):
John Jacob, b. Feb. 3, 1739
Maria Barbara, b. Oct. 29, 1740
John George, b. April 9, 1743
Son of Philipp Bentz, of Kreutz Creek, (Lancaster, now York, County):
(Stoever Trinity record)
Christian, b. Mar. 30, 1741
Anna Maria b. Nov. 18, 1738
John Nicolaus Apr 9, 1743
In Rupp's 30,000 names of Immigrants, p. 98: May 29, 1735, Palatinates and Switzers imported in the ship Mercury, William Wilson master, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes, in England, in all 186 persons - Jacob Perdschinger.
In "Historical Notes from the Records of Augusta County, Virginia, 1740's," by Charles E. Kemper, in vol. 25 of the Papers of the Lancaster County Historical Society, no Bentz or Persinger is to be found.
Jacob Hacloman, a miller in Greenbrier County, Virginia, had a daughter, Elizabeth, who married Abraham, son of Jacob Argabrite who was born 1760 in Lancaster County (History of the Kauffman Families).
Sincerely,
Bern Reformed Church, Bern Township, Berks County:

Early in the 1700's there were in Augusta Co Va -, two brothers Jack and Valentine Pence (Bentz) - They jointly bought many acres of land near Peaked Mountain on Cub Run. One tract of 210 acres was purchased in 1749 and in Aug. 29, 1750, Jacob resided on this land.
